I finally switched out our cotton ball Christmas-themed bin for another wintery theme - icebergs! The littles had SO much fun with this and it was incredibly easy to set up. I just froze some colored water in different containers the night before, added a few inches of water and our Antarctica animals from the continent box, and let them have at it:
Short Pants has already asked if they can do it again tomorrow, and Pita Pocket spent the afternoon pointing to the emptied bin asking, "More?" Hopefully your kiddos will like it as much as mine did:

I LOVE that idea!!! Now I just need some toy penguins, because I don't have any. I do have plenty of molds to freeze colored water in, though. So I'm nearly there! : )
AWESOME! need to find me some penguins and polar bears....
I was sure I had bought a mama and baby polar bear, but of course I can't find them anywhere. I did gather all the animals I could find yesterday, though, and hope to do this activity tomorrow. :) Making the ice colored is a fun idea!
We tried to make sugar cube igloos/structures yesterday and it was a big flop. Sophia almost cried twice because hers kept breaking and Haley probably had the most fun of all of us just by mushing her hands all in the frosting and eating it!
What a great idea!
Looks like so much fun! Can't wait to try it
I'm definitely going to try this one! But I need to get the animals 1st. You know, I was just telling my little one about our postcard exchange and showed pictures of your kiddos. He immediately pointed at each one of them saying "This is MY FRIEND". How cute!!!
Thanks everyone! You really can't go wrong with water in any form, can you?
Christy - what a good idea about the igloos - sorry that it didn't turn out as planned!
Evelyn, your guy sounds like such a sweetie. :)
Oh I love this idea. Thanks for linking it up to the Sensory Tubs Idea List. :)
