We have some newly-created space available that is definately not for uptight birds. So if you know of someone of the avian persuasion who believes in peace, love, freedom, and psychedelic color combos, send them our way.
In other words, the littles painted a bird house:
All of the other bird houses on our property are up too high for the littles to watch due to our outdoor cats. We decided that the pine tree right off our front balcony was not only the perfect place to keep any nesting birds safe, but also a great spot for birdwatching. Of course, it required a wee bit of climbing (ok, 15 feet worth) by The Mister:
That funny-looking fuzzy thing in the front there is a nesting ball a sweet friend sent us last year. It's filled with wool for birds to build their nests with. The boys and I have enjoyed watching all of our bird friends pull bits off and fly away with them!
Our balcony has 3 bird feeders and a large population that visits them, so hopefully we'll see some hippy birds moving in soon.
